I promised pictures, so here goes. The first is at my graduation in Nazareth Village in May of last year, when I received my M.Ts.
Daphna graduated from High School in June, and here's her picture (they don't wear caps-and-gowns).
I'll post these two to see how they look and we'll go from there. Ta-ta for now!

Happy Birthday to all
I've been celebrating my 60th for a few days (weeks?) now, and wanted to send pictures and stuff to all... But before I do, Susan, can you renew your old monthly birthday/anniversary calendar??? I really enjoyed it, and it helped keep me on track as well!!
Anyway, I told Vernon I wanted to eat "somewhere fancy" and that meant he had to wear a tie... So he took the whole day off and we did it up right. First I volunteered at the zoo (Bev has hurt her knee), then we went to the Botanical Gardens at Hebrew University for brunch. Toured around there most of the day, also went to a nursery and got some plants, then to a store and bought new pants for Vernon, then got changed and went to ... the American Colony Hotel for dinner. Vernon wore a tie, as requested, and I wore the blue dress I had made for Ariel and Efrat's wedding. Dinner was fantastic!!! Vernon had the veal, I had lamb chops.. We roamed around the hotel afterwards, took a side trip to the bar downstairs, fun, fun, fun.
On Friday we had our traditional Shabbat dinner, that included Boston Cream Pie, my favorite. THEN, on this last Wednesday, Ariel and Efrat totally surprised me when they told us that they had booked us into a Zimmer in the Galilee for two nights, Thursday and Friday. Lemme tell ya guys, it was incredible!!! Our suite (!) had a jacuzzi in the bedroom, for goodness sakes!!! Not to mention the heated swimming pool, the jacuzzi in the bathroom, candles everywhere, they had balloons with "Happy Birthday" on them, wine and homemade cake, the views were stupendous anywhere you cared to look... We had chili at Vered HaGalil and visited with Yehuda and Yona, visited Domus Galilleae, where we had a personal tour with "Rosa", visited Benjy and Jenny Fauth, then drove all the way around the Sea of Galilee, stopping to buy Madjoul dates (the best in the world, in my opinion) on the way at Kibbutz Kinneret and picked up Dapha who shared Shabbat dinner with us. The next day we took the "long way home" by going across upper Galilee to Nahariya and then down the coast in a wild, thunder-and-lighting storm -- the waves on the sea were wildly churning, spray was flying everywhere! -- and finally got home about 6pm yesterday.
My mantra for this birthday is -- do NEW stuff! So that's what we did, and what I plan on continuing to do this next year. Now if I can just figure out how to post pictures....
